The Southampton edition of High Score Arcades opened in June 2021, the second of six centres across the South of England, also in Bracknell, Farnborough, Newbury, Poole and Swindon, with a seventh on the way.
The arcades provide a fun and nostalgic atmosphere for families and gamers of all ages.
By expanding the arcade floor and adding a more diverse gaming selection, High Score aims to enhance the gaming experience for its loyal customers and attract new arcade enthusiasts.
“We are excited to have expanded the size of the arcade floor, which has allowed us to introduce a wider variety of games,” said Nicki Gamblin, Head of Operations at High Score Arcades.
“That, in turn, has enabled us to increase our session capacity, so we can welcome even more families into the arcade, which is especially important with February half term on the horizon.”
High Score boasts hundreds of different titles all free to play and unlimited once you’ve paid your one off entry fee.
The line-up for gamers includes old school classics like Pac-Man and Space Invaders, pinball tables and sports games like basketball and air hockey.
There’s also some of the latest amusement machines to hit the market from Sega and Namco, including lots of Sonic, plus a bowling game, ski, motorbike and car simulators and a grabber machine.
The venue also features a super-sized 3.5m x 2m video wall, which will host a different feature game each month as a centrepiece attraction.
£11.95 buys players a pass to play as many games as they like in one hour. Under threes play for free and family discounts are available.
