SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Salesforce is cutting over 1,000 jobs and hiring new salespeople to sell its AI products, according to a report in Bloomberg News. Bloomberg, citing a person familiar with the matter, said workers impacted by the job cuts will be able to apply for other jobs internally.

The Bloomberg report did not identify which divisions the job cuts would be made in. Salesforce, which is the largest private employer in San Francisco, had 72,682 employees as of Jan. 31, 2024, according to its annual report.

Salesforce, which has primarily operated as maker of customer relationship management platforms, has been investing heavily in moving toward AI over the past year or two.
