
Viewers praised the act for their heartwarming message to the former frontman
As The Prodigy headlined on the Other Stage for Glastonbury Festival’s closing night, fans were touched by their tribute to Keith Flint.
The band hail from Braintree in Essex and are often referred to as one of the most successful electronic music groups with them selling an estimated 25 million records worldwide.
With over 200,000 people arriving at Worthy Farm in Somerset on Wednesday (25th June) viewers eagerly awaited to see if The Prodigy or Olivia Rodrigo would attract the bigger crowd during the final day.
Their headliner performance at Glastonbury festival is the first since the death of the band’s frontman Keith Flint in 2019. The band first played the iconic festival in 1995 and last took to its stage in 2009.
Keith Flint was sadly found unresponsive at his home in North End near Great Dunmow on March 4th 2019 after there were multiple concerns over his welfare.
Tragically dying at the age of 49-years-young, Keith was one of the founding members of The Prodigy in 1990 along with bandmates Liam Howlett, from Braintree, and Keith Palmer, who is often referred to by his stage name “Maxim”.
Following his death, the band said: “It has been a tough time for everyone over the last few weeks since Keef’s passing,
“The Prodigy fully support the campaign to improve mental health for all. For professional advice in the UK please visit Mind, The Calm Zone and the Samaritans.”
As The Prodigy opened their act on the Other stage to a huge crowd, they played a tribute to the former frontman during their song Firestarter.
Fans were quick to react to the tribute and ran to social media to express their emotions.
