Glasgow street cordoned off amid ongoing emergency incident

Scotstoun Street in the West End has been blocked off by firefighters amid a property blaze in the area.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service revealed they were alerted to the inferno shortly before 5pm on Sunday, June 15.

The service sent four fire trucks to the scene, including a high-reach appliance.

At the moment, emergency crews remain in the area. Currently, it is unclear if anyone has been injured during the fire.

In an image captured by the Glasgow Times, two fire trucks can be seen parked on the street at its junction with Dumbarton Road.

Police can also be seen standing guard in the area, while the street has been taped off.

Meanwhile, in a clip, police vehicles and an ambulance can be seen parked on Dumbarton Road amid the ongoing incident.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to a dwelling fire on Scotstoun Street, Glasgow, at 4.54pm on Sunday, June 15.

“Three appliances and a high-reach appliance were sent to the scene.”

Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.
