Investigation launched into Bolingbrook school staff member's alleged inappropriate communication with a teen boy

BOLINGBROOK, Ill. (WGN) — An investigation is underway after an employee at a southwest suburban middle school was allegedly found to be inappropriately communicating with a teen boy.
According to officials from the Village of Bolingbrook, officers first learned about the allegations on Tuesday, April 8, after receiving information about a staff member at Brooks Middle School who had allegedly been communicating inappropriately with a 14-year-old Valley View School District student.
After officers were notified about the incident, detectives, school resource officers, and district administrators “identified the involved parties and put a safety plan into place,” though the specifics surrounding the plan are unclear.
Officials said alongside the safety plan, the district is working with police to ensure the safety of their staff and student population amid the investigation.
Officials did not provide details on the alleged communication or identify the employee involved.
According to officials, an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Officials said no charges have been filed against the employee and it is unclear if they are still employed with the district.
