SBP announces bank holiday on July 1

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced that all banks across the country will remain closed for public dealing on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, in observance of the annual bank holiday marking the start of the new fiscal year.

According to a statement issued by the central bank, the holiday applies to all banks, development finance institutions (DFIs), and microfinance banks (MFBs), which will suspend public dealings for the day.

“The State Bank of Pakistan will remain closed for public dealings on 1st July, 2025 (Tuesday), which shall be observed as a bank holiday.

“All banks / DFIs / MFBs shall, therefore, remain closed for public dealing on the aforementioned date. However, employees of the banks / DFIs / MFBs will attend the office as usual,” read the statement.
