RCMP say a fatal hit-and-run on Haida Gwaii Tuesday was likely targeted.
It happened after 1 p.m. PT on the 200 block of Front Street in Skidegate, a village of about 700 people.
Police say the North District major crimes unit is en route to the community to investigate, and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
Skidegate Band Council, which governs the village, enacted a curfew following the incident that it said is in response to “the current crisis,” but did not immediately provide further details.
