French President Emmanuel Macron is hosting European leaders for an emergency summit on the Ukraine war after U.S. officials suggested Europe would not have a role in any talks on ending the conflict. As RFE/RL’s Olena Abramovych reports from Paris, it comes as the United States and Russia are set to begin talks in Saudi Arabia about ending the war in Ukraine.
