Ukrainian soldier Mykhaylo Hurzhiy was severely wounded in combat and has endured nearly two years of physical therapy to try to regain the use of his legs. But his path to recovery began with a moment of joy when Hurzhiy’s girlfriend proposed to him in his hospital room. The couple married soon after and have supported each other through the veteran’s grueling rehabilitation.
