CBSE to hold Class 12 Hindi exam on March 15 amid Holi celebrations, announces special provisions for absentees – The Times of India

CBSE Class 12 Hindi exam: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that the Class XII Hindi Core (302) and Hindi Elective (002) board exams will be conducted as scheduled on March 15, 2025, despite the possibility of Holi celebrations extending to that date in some regions as reported by ANI. However, acknowledging potential difficulties faced by students in appearing for the exam on the scheduled day, CBSE has introduced an alternative provision allowing affected students to take the test at a later date.
Exam schedule remains unchanged
CBSE clarified that the board examination schedule had been meticulously planned and announced well in advance to avoid major clashes with festivals or significant events. However, due to regional variations in Holi celebrations, some students and parents have expressed concerns about the feasibility of appearing for the Hindi exam on March 15. In response, CBSE has assured that affected students will be given a fair opportunity to take the exam later.
Alternative examination window for affected students
Students who are unable to appear for the Hindi Core and Hindi Elective exams on the scheduled date due to Holi celebrations or other unavoidable reasons will be allowed to take the test at a later date. This provision follows CBSE’s existing practise of granting alternative exam dates for students engaged in national and international sporting events.
Next steps
CBSE is expected to release further guidelines on the process for students seeking the alternative examination date. Schools and students are advised to stay updated through official CBSE notifications and communicate any concerns to school authorities in a timely manner.
