Jasprit Bumrah’s scans and thorough assessment is done at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru and a comprehensive medical report will be on the table in the next 24 hours. It is understood that Bumrah is likely to stay in Bengaluru so that he can have a discussion with Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) medical team, and plan the way forward.
Once the medical team is done with their bit, the final word will be communicated to the Indian team management. The opinion of Dr Rowan Schouten from New Zealand could also be sought after the report is ready. When Bumrah underwent the first scan in January, the reports were shared with Dr Schouten and he is likely to be kept in the loop this time too.

The deadline to finalise the squad for Champions Trophy is not very far and the Indian team management is waiting for the report to take the Bumrah call. Captain Rohit Sharma had said before the Nagpur ODI against England that they will get clarity once the scans are done.
The seamer was replaced by Varun Chakaravarthy in the England ODI squad and it now remains to be seen whether the selectors go for Varun’s mystery or Harshit Rana’s pace if Bumrah remains unavailable for selection.
After a grueling Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Bumrah has been away from cricket since the Sydney Test where he didn’t bowl in the second innings. He was asked to off load for five weeks after swelling in the back and reached Bengaluru on February 2.
