(KRON) — The Oakland Police Department (OPD) is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred the day after Christmas.
OPD said officers responded to the 1100 block of Foothill Boulevard just before 4:15 p.m. on Dec. 26 to investigate a Shotspotter activation.
When Oakland police arrived at the scene, they found a victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the life-saving attempts of paramedics, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Oakland police said the victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification to next of kin.
